ESL Students Use New Skills to Organize Food Drive
English as a Second Language students are organizing a charitable drive July 20-24 to collect non-perishable food and clothing for families in need. The goal is to collect 7,500 pounds of food and clothing, which will be distributed to those in need by The Storehouse of Greater Albuquerque. The project is part of the students’ academic and Service Learning experience at CNM. Read more.

New Tuition and Fee Structure in Effect for Fall Term

Refresh Your Closet While Helping Students Look Sharp in Job Interviews
CNM’s Job Connection Center invites you to participate in its annual clothing exchange, which will benefit CNM students in need of job interview attire and local charities. The exchange will be held on Main Campus on July 30 from 8-11 a.m. For every item donated, participants will be able to choose one item for themselves. Please donate clean and gently used professional clothes, shoes and accessories. Men's clothing and plus-sizes are especially needed. Donations are being taken now. For more info, call 224-3060.

Students Set Record, Win 11 Medals at National SkillsUSA Championships
There has been a longstanding tradition of excellence for CNM students who compete in the annual SkillsUSA National Championships. This year, however, CNM’s team of SkillsUSA students – who are supported by the college's highly regarded faculty members and advisors – raised the bar of excellence even higher. Read more.

Vet Tech Student Wins Gold at National Event
CNM Veterinary Technology student Natalie Detmer struck gold over the weekend at the Health Occupations Students of America National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn. Detmer won the gold medal in the Veterinary Assisting competition. Fellow vet tech student Amanda Boyles finished eighth in the Medical Math category. CNM, New Mexico Highlands University Strengthen Partnership, Sign 2+2
On Friday, June 19 representatives from CNM and New Mexico Highlands University signed a 2+2 agreement that will allow students to take the first two years of coursework for a bachelor’s degree in social work at CNM, then seamlessly transfer to Highlands University for the final two years of coursework. CNM Announces Plans to Reduce Budget While Upholding Core Missions
CNM President Katharine Winograd recently announced the college's plans to significantly reduce its budget to comply with decisions made at the 2009 State Legislative Session. Through CNM's comprehensive Budget Reduction Plan, the college intends to become a stronger organization with an even more intense focus on student success.
